
Speers and Noel Added to BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forwards Blake Speers of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Nathan Noel of the Saint John Sea Dogs will compete for Team Orr at the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game hosted by the OHL's Niagara IceDogs on Thursday January 22, 2015.
Speers, an 18-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie, ON, was chosen by his hometown Greyhounds 11th overall in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. In his second OHL season, he is currently third in team scoring with 45 points in 38 games played. Noel, a 17-year-old from St. John's, NF, was the third overall selection in the 2013 QMJHL Entry Draft. Playing in his second season with the Sea Dogs, he leads the club in scoring with 37 points in 43 games. Noel joins fellow Sea Dog Thomas Chabot who was originally named to the Team Orr roster in December.
Speers and Noel replace forwards Mathew Barzal of the Seattle Thunderbirds and Nikita Korostelev of the Sarnia Sting who are unable to compete due to injury.
The BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game features 40 of the CHL's top draft eligible players for the 2015 NHL Draft. This annual showcase features the next wave of NHL talent from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
