LOS ANGELES - Sparks guard Kristi Toliver was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played August 12 through August 18, the WNBA announced Monday.

Toliver ranked second in the Western Conference and third in the WNBA with 21.5 points per game in the Sparks two wins last week. On August 13, she scored 15 points, to go along with four rebounds and four assists in the Sparks 80-76 win over the Chicago Sky. Against Indiana on August 16, Toliver finished with 28 points-one shy of her career-high-including 16 in the first quarter alone. She finished 11-for-15 from the field, including the Sparks only two three-point field goals, in the 94-72 win over the Fever.

Toliver also shot 100 percent from the free throw line over both games. She was 5-for-5 from the charity stripe against Chicago and 4-for-4 against Indiana.

This is Toliver's second Player of the Week honor of her career and first this season. She was also named Player of the Month in August 2012.
