Sox Defeated by Ogden 3-2
Ogden, UT ¬" Tonight the Great Falls White Sox were defeated by the Ogden Raptors 3-2 at Linquist Field in Ogden. Yunior Novoa (1-4) took the loss as he worked six innings, allowing two runs on five hits. The win went to David Pfeiffer (6-3) as he worked three innings, allowing one hit. The save went to Ramon Trancoso (9) as he worked the ninth inning, allowing a run on one hit.
In a pitchers duel in Ogden, the Raptors would score first in the fourth inning. It was an RBI groundout by Jason Mooneyham to make it a 1-0 game.
Great Falls would be no-hit through the first five innings but would score off the Ogden bullpen on an RBI hit by Francisco Hernandez to tie the game. Ogden would retake the lead in the bottom of the inning on an RBI double by Russ Mitchell to make it a 2-1 game.
Ogden added to their lead in the eighth inning on a bases loaded walk issued by Travis Doyle. Great Falls did threaten in the ninth as Daron Roberts scored on a sac fly by Brandon Allen but the Sox wouldn't get any closer as they would fall 3-2.
In the game four Ogden pitchers combined to two hit the Sox. Also, Hernandez extended his hit streak to 13 games.
Tomorrow night the Sox will conclude their road trip as they take on the Ogden Raptors for the fourth game of a four game series. The starters for the game are: Carlos Perez (LHP) for Great Falls and Mario Alvarez (RHP) for Ogden. Game time is at 7:00pm and can be heard on 560AM-KMON starting at 6:45.
