Sox Drop Another Game

The Sox dropped their third game in a row to the Elizabethton Twins in an 8-0 loss at Boyce Cox Field.

After three scoreless innings, the Twins got on the scoreboard when Max Kepler doubled in Niko Goodrum to make the score 1-0 in the top of the fourth. The Twins added two more runs in the top of the sixth on RBI singles by Travis Harrison and Jhonatan Arias.

After jumping out to a 3-0 lead, the Twins added two runs in the top of the eighth and extended their lead with three more in the ninth, highlighted by a two-run homerun by Jorge Polanco in the ninth.

Travis Huber collected the win for the Twins and Jefferson Olacio fell to 2-4 on the season for the Sox. Kepler led the Twins with three hits, including a double, and a run scored. Jake Brown and Juan Ramirez each collected a hit on the night for the Sox.

The 16-32 Sox will take on the 34-15 Twins tomorrow August 11, with first pitch set for 7 p.m. at Boyce Cox Field.
