Sow Recalled From RimRockers Of The NBA D-League

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have recalled second-year centre/forward Pape Sow (POP SOH) from the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League. Sow was assigned to the Raptors' affiliate in the D-League on November 20, 2005. Sow appeared in 18 games with the RimRockers, averaging 19.7 points, third in the league, a league-best 11.6 rebounds, 1.41 steals and 1.56 blocks. He recorded a double-double in six consecutive games to start the season and a league-best 13 in total.

Per NBA guidelines, Sow remained on the Raptors roster while in the NBA D-League and was put on the inactive list. At the current time, his status with the Raptors is unchanged.

Sow, 24, was selected by Miami in the second round (47th overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft and traded to the Raptors along with a 2005 second-round pick for the draft rights to Albert Miralles. A native of Senegal, Sow appeared in one game with Toronto this season contributing two points in one minute on November 13. He averaged 2.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 9.4 minutes in 27 games during the 2004-05 season.

Arkansas, who is led by head coach Joe Harge, has been designated as the Raptors D-League affiliate for the 2005-06 season. In addition to the RimRockers, the eight-team NBA D-League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
