Hitter of the Week
MIGUEL NEGRON - WEST TENN DIAMOND JAXX
Diamond Jaxx' rightfielder Miguel Negron sizzled at the plate last week, going 13-for-17 (.765) with a .789 on-base percentage and a 1.176 slugging percentage to earn Hitter of the Week honors. Negron, who joined the Diamond Jaxx on May 21, had at least two hits in every game in which he registered an official at-bat last week while 6 of his 13 hits went for extra bases. On June 10 against Birmingham, he went 3-for-4 with a double, triple and two runs scored. The rightfielder was perfect on June 11 versus the Barons, going 4-for-4 with 3 doubles, two runs scored, an RBI and a walk. Negron has recorded a hit in each of his last seven at-bats, three short of the Southern League record. For the season, he has accumulated a .400 average with 1 home run and 5 RBI. The 23-year-old Caguas, Puerto Rico native was signed as a free agent by the Chicago Cubs in 2006.

Pitcher of the Week
JOEL HANRAHAN - JACKSONVILLE SUNS
Suns' right-hander Joel Hanrahan tossed 13.0 scoreless innings, going 2-0 in his two starts last week to earn Pitcher of the Week honors. On June 5 against Mobile, he hurled 6.0 shutout innings, fanning eight hitters while allowing just a sixth-inning single and walking five. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate, hitting his second career triple and scoring on a squeeze play. The righty continued his dominance June 10 against Huntsville, tossing 7.0 scoreless innings and allowing just 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. The righty also sustained his success at the plate, hitting an RBI single in his 1-for-2 performance. Hanrahan, who is currently enjoying a 15.0 consecutive scoreless inning streak, last allowed a run leading off the fourth inning on May 31. He is tied for the league lead with 7 wins and ranks fifth with a 2.58 ERA. The 24-year-old Norwalk, IA native was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round of the 2000 draft.
