
Sounders Hit The Road For Another Two-Game Set

The Seattle Sounders travel cross-country as they begin another two game road trip, this time through Puerto Rico and Miami. The Sounders are in the middle of a seven game road stretch in the month of June. The Sounders square off with the Puerto Rico Islanders on Friday, June 16th before traveling to Miami to take on legendary Forward Romario and Miami FC on June 18th.
The Puerto Rico Islanders have played seven of their nine matches on the season at home, helping the club to a record of 4-3-2, 10pts. The Islanders are 3-2-2 at home this season, outscoring opponents 9-6.
The Sounders square off with USL First Division newcomer, Miami FC and their Brazilian stars, Zinho and the world's second leading goal scorer Romario in game two of the trip. Miami FC Forward Romario, who played a key role in Brazil's 1994 World Cup victory, is currently tied with Seattle's Cam Weaver for the league lead in goals scored with five. Miami FC is just 1-1-2 in their last four matches.

Sunday's match against Romario and Miami FC will be the first USL First Division broadcast of the season on Fox Soccer Channel. Coverage begins at 1:30pm PST for the 2pm kickoff. Coach Schmetzer and Midfielder Leighton O'Brien will talk about 2002 teammate, Foward Brian Ching.

Sounders Busy On The Field, Busy In The Community
The Seattle Sounders play nine games in the month of June, keeping them busy on the pitch. But the team is also busy in the community making several appearances between games. Starting on June 17th in Redmond the Sounders will be at the Arena Sports Kids Fest from 10am - 12pm. Then on June 20th the Sounders will help Loyal Heights Elementary School celebrate their reading success. On June 22nd the Sounders will build and decorate kites for the Model Family Mentorship Program's Kite Night on July 29th. Then on June 24th the Sounders will be in Lakewood at a community festival to sign autographs and talk about the club's exciting July home schedule.
Sounders battle Mexican Powerhouse, Club America
Saturday, July 8th at Qwest Field, 6pm
The Sounders square-off with Club America, one of Mexico's most historic clubs on July 8th at Qwest Field. Club America has won the Mexican league championship 10 times and features arguably Mexico's most creative goal scorer, Cuauhtemoc Blanco. America's roster also includes multiple former Mexican, Argentinean, and Chilean National Team players.
