Vancouver Whitecaps News Release

The Whitecaps are on the road this week with both the men's and women's teams playing three games in four nights. The men's side (3-1-6) is currently third in the USL First Division, behind Rochester and Montreal, while the Women lead the W-League's Western Conference with five straight wins to open the season.

Expect big things from the USL First Division's leading scorer Joey Gjertsen who already has 11 points (five goals and one assist) in 10 games. On the Women's side, look for Tiffeny Milbrett as well as up-and-comers Rheanne Sleiman and Kirsteen Buchan to step up while National Team members are away at training camp in Nanaimo.

The action begins today as the Whitecaps Men take on the Virginia Beach Mariners (3-1-4) at 4:00 p.m. The match will be broadcast LIVE on whitecapsfc.com with the pre-game show starting at 3:30 p.m. In addition, the game will be available on a tape delayed broadcast on AM 730 at 7:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the Women will face the Real Colorado Cougars (0-1-3) at 7:30 p.m. Score updates for both games will be available on whitecapsfc.com.

On Friday, the Mile High Edge (3-3-0) will host the Women's squad at 6:00 p.m. This is the second meeting of the season for these two teams, as the Caps defeated the Edge 3-0 at home last Saturday night. As usual, game updates will be available on the Whitecaps' website.

The Men are back at it on Saturday, June 17 as they face the Atlanta Silverbacks (2-4-2) at 4:30 p.m. Join Peter Schaad and Alan Errington for all the game action LIVE on AM 730. The Whitecaps pre-game show starts at 4:00 p.m.
