June 7, 2006 - USL First Division (USL-1)
Seattle Sounders News Release
The Seattle Sounders head out for a two-game road trip to the East coast as they continue a seven game road stretch. On Thursday, June 8th the Sounders face the Charleston Battery; then on June 10th the Sounders invade the Atlanta Silverbacks' new facility, Re/Max Greater Atlanta Stadium. The Sounders make the trip without several players due to injury, including Ben Somoza, Leighton O'Brien, Danny Jackson, Jake Besagno and Maykel Galindo.
The Sounders (2-3-3, 9pts) played a tough home and home series last weekend against Portland. After a 0-0 draw at home, the Sounders were stunned 3-1 on the road. Defender Zach Scott scored the Sounders' only goal in the series for his first of the season. The Sounders are 1-1-2 over their last four matches, and are looking for their first road win of the season when they meet ninth place Charleston and tenth place Atlanta.
