Strong Island Sound News Release

Patchogue, NY. The ABA Strong Island Sound announces its schedule for the 2006-2007 season. After an extremely successful first season - the Sound made it to the Final Four in the ABA 2005-2006 playoffs - the Sound will tip off at Norfolk on November 3ard to begin its second year in the league. This year's home games will be played at Suffolk Community College's Selden Campus. Tickets are now available online.

"When the days get shorter and the weather turns colder, Strong Island Sound basketball is the perfect family destination for fun and affordable entertainment," stated Darren Cioffi, co-owner. "All of our home games are played on the weekend, making it easier for families to attend. Under the direction of the team's new head coach, Dytanya Mixson, we expect another successful season. Ultimately our goal is to win the league championship and if we play up to our potential, I am confident that we will meet our expectations."

Founded in 2004 by co-owners Darren Cioffi and Michele Wuestman, the Strong Island Sound bring high energy and intensity, as well as entertaining basketball to the arena every game night. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
