Soul teams with Dick's Sporting Goods to teach football fundamentals

PHILADELPHIA -The Philadelphia Soul, along with Dick's Sporting Goods will join forces to conduct Soul Football Clinics. The clinics will be held Saturday, July 8 at Methacton High School in Norristown, PA and on Sunday, July 9 at the Riverwinds Complex in West Deptford, NJ. Each clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon.
Instructed by Soul players and coaches, youths ages 8-14 will be given the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills and techniques of football.
Young football beginners will be given a solid foundation on the basics of the game. These basics include offensive and defensive techniques, passing skills, blocking, tackling, pass catching and covering skills. Children new to the game will be instructed and brought to a level necessary for competition. The clinics will also be catered to experienced players focusing on position specific skills and techniques for both sides of play. Soul players and coaches will teach the children to ensure top-quality instruction.
Registration is recommended online by going to www.philadelphiasoul.com. Walk-ups will also be accepted the day of the clinic. The cost of the clinic is $30 and can be paid via cash, check or credit card. Cost includes two tickets to a 2007 Soul home game. All registrants will be required to have a waiver and release signed by a parent or guardian before participation. This is a non-contact clinic and workout attire is required.
