ORLANDO, Fla. (June 14, 2006) -- Three days after Orlando's appearance in ArenaBowl XX, Predators head coach JAY GRUDEN began putting a face on his 2007 team by announcing the signing of lineman GREG WHITE to a two-year contract. Per club policy, terms were not disclosed.

A rookie this past season, White turned into a dominating lineman. In 11 regular games he recorded 11 tackles with three tackles-for-loss, 1.5 quarterback sacks, five pass breakups, a forced fumble and three quarterback hurries. Although he missed five games with a shoulder injury, he impressed enough AFL coaches to be named to the first unit of the "All-Rookie" team. White stepped his play up in the post-season by recording three quarterback sacks and providing constant pressure on the quarterback in helping the Predators return to the ArenaBowl.

"Resigning Greg was our top priority," Gruden said. "Even with a bad shoulder, he was a dominant player in his first season. When healthy, we believe he will be the best at what he does."

"I am starting to get comfortable with the Arena game and I am happy to have another chance to come back and play with the Predators," White said. "We came one game short of our goal of winning the ArenaBowl and I look forward to having an opportunity to finish the job next season."
