PHILADELPHIA - (Tuesday, June 10, 2008) The Philadelphia Soul have released fullback John Peaua and defensive back Nick Ward.

Peaua was signed by the Soul on February 25 and spent the entire season on the Injured Reserve with various injuries. Peaua has eight years of AFL experience with the Colorado Crush and the Arizona Rattlers.

Ward was signed by the Soul on May 5 and played in three games this season, totaling 3 tackles. Before coming to the Soul, Ward played for Kansas City, Columbus and Georgia.

The Philadelphia Soul (11-3), YOUR Team...YOUnited, will take on the Cleveland Gladiators (8-6) on Saturday, June 14 at 7 p.m. at the Wachovia Spectrum. The Soul's all-time record against the Gladiators is 0-4. The last time they played, former Soul player Marlion Jackson had a total of 50 yards and 4 touchdowns, as the Gladiators knocked the Soul from the ranks of the unbeaten in Week 10. The Soul are celebrating their fifth anniversary this season. The team has drawn an AFL-best 514,226 fans combined during the past four years. Following last season, the Soul were recognized with the Commissioner's Award as the Organization of the Year and were an honorable mention for the PRISM Award in the category of fan appreciation.
