
OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

June 10, 2008 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Grand Rapids quarterback James MacPherson, Arizona Rattlers defensive back Terrance Joseph and Grand Rapids Rampage kicker Brian Gowins were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week fifteen of the AFL season.
MacPherson completed 35 of 43passes (81%) for 388 yards, a franchise record 10 touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown in the Rampage's 84-65 victory over the Colorado Crush.
Joseph returned one interception 1 -yards for a touchdown, came up with one fumble recovery and contributed four tackles in the Rattlers' 73-34 victory over the Kansas City Brigade.
Gowins was 10-11 on extra points and was 2-2 on field goals (both 39-yards) in their victory over the Colorado Crush.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were Philadelphia WR Chris Jackson, Cleveland QB Raymond Philyaw, Georgia QB Chris Greisen, Philadelphia QB Matt D'Orazio and New York WR Kevin Swayne.
Others considered for Defensive award were Arizona DB Isaiah Trufant, Cleveland DB Brandon Hefflin, New Orleans DL Michael Spicer, New York DB Billy Parker, and Georgia LB Will Thompson.
Other players considered for Special Team honors included Tampa Bay's Sedrick Robinson (eight returns for 168 yards, including one returned 58-yards for a touchdown), New Orleans Jonathan Ruffin (7-7 on extra points and two touchbacks on kickoffs), Utah's Steve Videtich (8-8 on extra points and a 28-yard field goal) and New York's Steve Azar (8-8 on extra points and one 48-yard field goal).
