CHRIS JACKSON DAY
In Honor of WR Chris Jackson, the Philadelphia Soul will be giving tickets to this Saturday's playoff game to his entire hometown of Morrisville, PA (pop. 10,096). Chris Jackson Day is free, open-to-the-public event at which Chris will be acknowledged by Borough officials. Chris and Philadelphia Soul officials will also express their thanks for Morrisville's support through the record-setting, 13-3, 2008 season.
REMEMBER WHEN...?
This Saturday will mark the third time the Soul and Dragons have met this season. During their first matchup, the Soul defeated the Dragons 63-42 and Soul QB Tony Graziani was injured after being hit late by New York DL John Nix. Graziani went on to miss the next four games after the hit and has only played a few minutes since then. When the Soul traveled to New York later in the season they destroyed the Dragons, 59-30. Jackson caught nine passes for 96 yards and one touchdown, while Wes Ours contributed two more touchdowns.
WHAT'S UP TODAY
Practice was held inside today and the team attended film sessions before practice and meetings afterward. When the team was finished some players gathered to watch an American Indoor Football Association game between the Reading Express and the Eric RiverRats. To give you an idea of the difference between the AFL and the AIFA, the first time the Soul played New York this season, the combined score was 28 points at the end of the first quarter compared to just eight.
HE SAID IT
Chris Jackson on how they can win the game, "We'll take it upon ourselves in offense and try to score every time we have the ball. I think we've been pretty successful at doing that and I think if we just take care of the ball and keep it away from them, protect our football and score every chance we get it, then I think we have a great chance of winning."
AROUND THE LEAGUE
For the Divisional Round, the Colorado Crush will take on San Jose SaberCats at 3pm (et) on Saturday July 5th... On Sunday, the Grand Rapids Rampage head to Chicago to play the Crush at 3pm (et) and the Cleveland Gladiators will challenge the Georgia Force on Monday night at 7pm (et).
