
Soul face must-win scenario against Silver Knights

After picking up a heartbreaking loss in overtime to the Missouri Comets on Wednesday night, the Chicago Soul (10-15) will look to bounce back quickly against the Syracuse Silver Knights (8-16) on Friday night in their final regular season match. The battle will serve as the Soul's last chance to clinch a playoff berth as the squad is just one win away from locking in the fourth and final seed. Chicago, which leads its series against Syracuse 3-0, will try to remain undefeated against the Silver Knights and avoid elimination from postseason play. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday at the Sears Centre Arena.
On the Radar
Carlos "Chile" Farias continues to lead the way for the Soul with 71 points, while Carlos Muñoz and Bato Radoncic follow behind him with 56 and 48, respectively.
Despite the 8-6 loss to the Comets on Wednesday, Jeff Richey came up big for the Soul, making 34 saves to keep his squad in the game. Richey's last encounter the with the Silver Knights resulted in an 11-0 shutout, during which he set an MISL record with his 45 saves. Chicago will hope for another phenomenal defensive performance from Richey as the squad looks to hold off Syracuse.
The Competition
The Silver Knights are coming off of a 12-8 loss to the Milwaukee Wave, and will now need to collect wins in their remaining two games against the Soul and the Wave to keep their playoff chances afloat. Syracuse is led by Neto, who ranks third in the league in points with 76. Slavisa Ubiparapovic and Nelson Santana are also key pieces for the Silver Knights as they hold 47 and 46 points, respectively.
