Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA (July 10, 2012) - The 2012 Eastern Division Champion, Philadelphia Soul, have been assigned former All-Arena kicker Remy Hamilton (6'0", 220, Michigan). Hamilton is considered one of the best placekickers in Arena Football League history as has been named to the All-Arena team four times and is a two-time Kicker of the Year. Hamilton replaces Connor Hughes, who was placed on the injured reserve list.

The 12-year veteran is the AFL's all-time leader in field goals made (188), extra points made (1,082) and scoring by a kicker (1,646 points).

"Remy has proven to be one of the best kickers in AFL history throughout the past decade," Soul head coach Doug Plank. "Kicking in the AFL is not easy and it is a luxury to have a guy as experienced as he is on the roster."

Hamilton started his career with the Grand Rapids Rampage back in 1998. He then played for the Carolina Cobras and the Milwaukee Mustangs before landing with the Los Angeles Avengers in 2002 where he played until 2007.

During his time in Los Angeles, Hamilton was named Kicker of the Year in 2005 and 2006 and was named First-Team All-Arena both times.

Hamilton spent his last two seasons with the Dallas Desperados in 2008 and with the Dallas Vigilantes in 2011.
