
Soo Holds on for 3-2 Win against Port Huron

The Soo Eagles survived a determined comeback attempt by the Port Huron Fighting Falcons on the way to a 3-2 win.
A goal by Eric Rivard put Soo up 3-1 in the third period, but Port Huron pulled to within one on Mick Bruce's tally 9:24 into the third period.
Rivard had a great game for the Eagles, netting two goals.
By firing 34 shots on goal, Soo exceeded the 29.1 shots it averages per game this year.
Soo also got points from Robin Hoglund, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Soo came via Kyle Froese, who had two and Cody Von Reuden and Jared VanWormer, who each chipped in one.
The Fighting Falcons kept the Eagles' goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Marble made 52 saves on 54 shots.
Port Huron was helped by Brett DAndrea, who racked up one goal. DAndrea scored 10:46 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Soo. Rick DeRosa picked up the assist. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Ryan Nick and Easton Powers, who contributed one a piece.
Soo incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Max Milosek recorded 31 saves for the Fighting Falcons. Port Huron incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
