
Soo Beats Port Huron 4-3 After Comeback Scare

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Soo Eagles would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-3.
Soo made the score 4-0 on a goal by Chris Waterstreet at 13:14 in the second period, and Port Huron got as close as 4-3 when Daniel Rehnstrom scored 14:17 into the third period.
With 38 shots on target during the contest, the Eagles exceeded the 28.5 shots they average per game this year.
Soo also got points from Michael Covach, who also had one goal and one assist. Soo also got a goal from Mike Sabatini as well. Other players who recorded assists for Soo were Matt Menta, who had two and Cody Von Reuden, Pat Thompson, Sean Murphy, and Alexander Taulien, who contributed one a piece.
The Fighting Falcons were led by Rick DeRosa, who finished with one goal and one assist. DeRosa scored 7:28 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Soo. Brett DAndrea provided the assist. Port Huron additionally got points from DAndrea, who also registered one goal and one assist. In addition, Port Huron received assists from Easton Powers, Bryan Yim, and Payden Mielke, who each chipped in one.
Zach Nagelvoort recorded 25 saves for Soo. The Eagles incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Max Milosek made 34 saves for Port Huron on 38 shots. The Fighting Falcons incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
