
Sonar Makes the Rounds

Hartford, May 6, 2003 -- The Hartford Wolf Pack's mascot, Sonar, will be taking part in three events this week, spreading a message of fun, safety and education.
This Wednesday, May 7th, the cuddly wolf will be at Mark Twain Elementary School, 395 Lyme St., Hartford, from 1-2 PM, participating in the McDonald's "Fantastic Scholastics" program. Founded by the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald's Owner/Operator Association, Fantastic Scholastics supports reading achievement in grades K-3, a critical stage in a child's reading development.
This Thursday, May 8th, Sonar will be taking part in a presentation at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, 282 Washington St., Hartford, from 10 AM to noon on safety issues. 150 Hartford school children will be on hand, and everything from fire to pedestrian safety will be stressed.
This coming Saturday, May 10th will find Sonar at Bristol Hospital's annual Kids' Safety Carnival. He will be on hand from noon to 2 PM at this event, which takes place at the Bristol Hospital Wellness Center on Clark Avenue in Bristol.
In addition to these upcoming events, the Wolf Pack's mascot visited two school fund-raisers this past Saturday, May 3rd. Sonar cavorted at the annual spring fling at Skinner Road School in Vernon and also participated in the fun at the Kensington Nursery School's annual kids' carnival.
