Solar Bears Announce Training Camp Schedule Change

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that the first on-ice practice session for the team's 2015 Training Camp will now take place on Friday, Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. The practice will be at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den.

The Solar Bears will open Training Camp with the following players having agreed to terms with the team for the 2015-16 season:

A complete Training Camp Roster with assigned jersey numbers will be released in the near future.

The Marlies are currently in Newfoundland for a three-game exhibition series against the St. John's IceCaps (AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens) and will return home on Monday, Oct. 5. Solar Bears Head Coach Anthony Noreen is currently travelling with the Marlies, while Assistant Coach John Snowden will lead the practice sessions at Solar Bears Training Camp on Friday and Monday.

"Friday and Monday are going to serve as skill sessions with Coach Snowden for the guys we have present in camp," Noreen said. "We will officially start full-team Training Camp on Tuesday. There's guys that we have on ECHL one-way contacts that are playing this weekend with the Marlies on Professional Try-Out Agreements. Then there are guys on AHL contracts with the Marlies that could be assigned to us as early as next week. The good thing is that by the time we start, these guys have been through a training camp already, and have been through some exhibition games as well."

The Solar Bears open their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at the Amway Center against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
