SUSI REACHES MILESTONE IN SOCKERS WIN
Sockers captain Aaron Susi put a milestone mark on a magnificent career Saturday, scoring his 500th career point in San Diego's 10-8 win over the Turlock Express. Susi had a goal and two assists in the game to reach point #500, which came on an assist to Eric Wunderle with 1:27 remaining in the third quarter. SOCKERS REACH US OPEN FINALS
Saturday's win over Turlock advanced San Diego into their third straight US Open Championship, which will be played at an Eastern Division venue on Presidents Day Weekend. The Eastern host will be decided between Detroit (9-1) and Cincinnati (4-8) in a match on Saturday.
SOCKERS HANDLE STORM ON SUNDAY
Playing back-to-back games for the third weekend in a row, the Sockers still managed to maintain their perfect record for the season, defeating the Arizona Storm 9-3 on Sunday in Phoenix. Kraig Chiles had two goals and two assists while Diego Rovira and Ze Roberto each contributed two goals and an assist. Chad Hagerty added his first Sockers goal as San Diego won their league record 12th straight road game.
