CHILES WINS SECOND PLAYER OF WEEK HONOR
Sockers forward Kraig Chiles is quickly building on his PASL MVP campaign of 2010-2011, already earning his second PASL Player of the Week honor in the season's third week of play. Chiles was front and center in the Sockers' 16-10 win over Revolucion Tijuana last Saturday, scoring a personal best seven goals while adding an assist for an eight-point game. The seven goals tied a PASL single-game record. Chiles also scored five goals in the second quarter alone, believed to be the most in a single quarter in PASL history. The former SDSU star has ten goals and four assists (14 points) in three games this season, tied for the league scoring lead.
DON'T FORGET "THE OTHER MVP"
Meanwhile, midfielder Brian Farber is having a brilliant start to his own campaign, proving that you can never have too many MVPs on your roster. The 2008-2009 PASL MVP, Farber had two goals and an assist vs. Tijuana on Saturday, giving Brian seven goals and an assist in three games. Farber is tied for fourth in the PASL in goals scored.
SUSI 500: 13 AWAY FROM MILESTONE MARK
Sockers captain Aaron Susi had two goals and three assists in San Diego's win over Tijuana, pushing his career totals to 487 points in a fifteen-year indoor soccer career. Aaron has three goals and four assists on the season in three games played and is just thirteen points shy of hitting the 500-point career milestone.
PERFECT AT HOME, DOMINANT VS. TJ
Saturday's win, the eleventh straight overall victory for San Diego, moved the Sockers to 26-0 all-time at the Del Mar Arena. The breakdown: 18-0 in PASL regular season games, 2-0 in PASL playoff games, 4-0 in US Open victories and 2-0 in exhibition games. San Diego is 8-1 all-time against Tijuana and 5-0 at home averaging 13.8 goals per home game.
