Sockers on the road for back-to-back games

(SAN DIEGO, Calif.) ­ The Sockers travel to St. Louis and Philadelphia this weekend in the first of back-to-back road games of the season. In the weekend¹s first game, San Diego heads to St. Louis to play the Steamers in a rematch of last Friday¹s game, which the Sockers lost, 4-3. The team then travels to the City of Brotherly Love to play the Philadelphia KiXX for the first time this season.

San Diego (2-3) is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Steamers last Friday at the Sports Arena. The team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but St. Louis scored three unanswered goals to give the Steamers their first win. Mark Ughy was held scoreless for the first time this season, but leads the team with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Defensively, Sean Bowers holds top spot with nine blocks for the season.

St. Louis (2-1) is on a two-game win streak with their defeat over the Monterrey Tigres this past Saturday and sits at second place in the Central Division. Daryl Doran and former Socker Aaron Susi lead the team with three goals each. Nate Houser and Matt Caution lead the defense with six blocks each.

Philadelphia is undefeated so far this season and is coming off back-to-back wins over the defending MISL champion Baltimore Blast. Ze Roberto and John Nusum lead the team with seven points each and Pat Morris leads the defense with nine blocks.
