
Sockers End Regular Season With 13-3 Rout of Edmonton

DEL MAR ARENA--Nick Perera had two goals and three assists and rookie goalkeeper Chris Toth allowed a season-low three goals as the Sockers hammered the Edmonton Drillers 13-3 in front of 2,336 fans at the Del Mar Arena.
Eric Wunderle had a hat trick and assist, and PASL-Pro goals leader Kraig Chiles potted a pair for his 32nd and 33rd goals of the season as the Sockers scored seven unanswered goals in the second and third quarters to run away and hide.
San Diego honored former goalkeeper Zoltan Toth by retiring his #1 jersey to the rafters at halftime, and his son Chris made six saves to earn his 4th win of the season.
The Sockers (16-2 overall, 14-2 PASL-Pro) bettered their regular season mark from a year ago and clinched the top seed and a bye in the upcoming PASL-Pro North American Championships, to be held in Cincinnati March 10th-12th.
