San Diego Sockers News Release

SAN DIEGO--Chiky Luna netted his first hat trick of the season and added an assist as the San Diego Sockers scored seven unanswered goals to close out a 14-3 victory over the Anaheim Bolts. The Sockers (8-0) won their 45th consecutive game, extending their U.S. professional team sports record, and finished 26-0 in 2012, their second consecutive undefeated calendar year.

"It says a lot about the hard work this team and coaching staff puts in every week to put a winner on the field," said Luna, who starred at Vista High, "We want to win for our fans and for two straight years we've been able to show them nothing but victories."

Balanced scoring paced the Sockers, with Aaron Susi, Kraig Chiles and Eduardo Velez each contributing two goals and three assists. San Diego was a perfect 3-for-3 on the power play and has converted 18 of 26 man advantages this season. Anthony Medina, Brian Farber, Ze Roberto, Paul Wright and Diego Rovira also scored for the Sockers. San Diego goalkeeper Riley Swift (4-0) made eight saves for the win, helping shut out top Anaheim scorer Adriano De Lima, who was held to a single assist. The Bolts (3-5), playing their first game under new head coach Jeff Tackett, dropped their third straight.

The Sockers return to action on January 5th, 2013, when they host the Turlock Express (6-2). Tickets are available at 866-799-GOAL or via TicketMaster on sdsockers.com.
