FIRE DEFENSE HOLDS OFF WOLVES: The Fire rode a strong defensive effort and another outstanding performance by Rob Mager to 59-49 victory over Manchester. Mager caught 11 passes for 148 yards and all six of Brett Dietz's touchdown passes. Dennis Fryzel pulled down 13 balls for 100 yards. Defensively the Fire had two interceptions including Kabote Sikyala's 13 yard return for a touchdown. The Fire has now won three straight games and will have their final bye of the season this week.

FIRE JUST A GAME BACK: The Fire's victory on Saturday combined with a Wilkes-Barre loss over the weekend has put the Fire just one game back for first place in the division. The Fire is tied with Green Bay for second place in the East, but holds the tie-breaker over the Blizzard by virtue of their 45-39 victory over Green Bay on April 29.
