
Sliders Announce New Assistant Coach

The Sliders and Field Manager Casey Dill have announced the hiring of Ryan Lauer as the Sliders assistant coach for 2015.
Ryan Lauer is currently in his first season as an assistant coach at New Mexico Highlands University. Previously, he worked three seasons as an assistant coach at Culver Stockton College in Canton Missouri.
Lauer played two seasons of independent professional baseball, where he batted.348 at the plate and hit 17 home runs. He also appeared in a pair of league championship series and was named a Southern Division league all-star as a catcher in 2012.
Lauer has played for Springfield Sliders manager Casey Dill for parts of six seasons, in both summer collegiate and independent professional baseball. In that time, they have led their teams to over 150 wins and four league championship appearances.
Lauer played collegiality at Feather River College, where he was a part of a team that finished Golden Valley Conference play with a perfect 25-0 record. Lauer has a bachelor's degree in sport management from Culver-Stockton College.
Ryan is the son of Jim and Deedee Lauer and had one sister, Lexi.
The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League with teams in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. Their 60 game schedule begins in late May and runs into August. All Sliders home games are played at Robin Roberts Stadium located at 1415 N Grand Ave E in Springfield, IL.
