Alabama Slammers News Release
PELHAM, Ala. â The Alabama Slammers training camp is just about ready to get underway. The Slammers will report as a team this Friday, October 24th, to the Pelham Civic Complex for team physicals. The first day of on-ice workouts will be on Saturday, October 25th.
Currently the Slammers have 28 players listed on their training camp roster. Although the Slammers are a first year franchise, Coach Garry Unger enters training camp with high expectations.
"We have a combination of experienced veterans and good young players coming to our camp," Unger said. "These players know they have to come in and impress us in order to make the team. There are still spots open on our roster."
Fans are invited to come to the Civic Complex for open practices. The Slammers first two days of on ice workouts at the Pelham Civic Complex take place on Saturday, October 24th, from 9:00pm-10:30pm and Sunday from 9:15am-11:15am. The Slammers entire training camp schedule will be released later this week.
