Slammers To Announce Major Player Signing

PELHAM, Ala. – The Alabama Slammers of the World Hockey Association 2, announced today that team officials would be holding a media conference on Wednesday to announce a major player signing for the upcoming 2003-04 season.

The media conference will take place at the Pelham Civic Complex on Wednesday, October 22nd at 1:00pm.

The Slammers currently have signed 8 players to their roster for the upcoming season: forwards Jeff Cheeseman, Jason Renard, Ryan Prentice, Jim Black,; goalies Fred Beaubien and Jamie Ronayne; and defensemen Bobby Quinnell and Tim Donnelly.

The Slammers open the 2003 - 2004 campaign at home at the Pelham Civic Complex on Friday, November 7th against the Jacksonville Barracudas. The Slammers will also face the Lakeland Loggerheads, Macon Trax, Miami Manatees, and Orlando Seals in the inaugural season of the World Hockey Association 2 (WHA2). All games will be broadcast on www.irn.fm.
