
Slammers Team Up For Charity

PELHAM, AL -Alabama Slammers Head Coach and former NHL Ironman Garry Unger will be among those celebrity players participating in the 3rd Annual "Hockey For Charity" game on Saturday, August 16th.
In its third year, the "Hockey For Charity" game will feature many former and present hockey celebrities including former Birmingham Bulls fan favorites Jerome "Stay Out of My Yard" Bechard, Craig Lutes, Hugo Belanger, Ian Hebert, Greg Dreveny, Mark Donahue, Rob Krauss, Tyler Johnson, Everett Caldwell, and Mark Loeding. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at the Pelham Civic Complex located next to the Oak Mountain Amphitheater. Tickets for the game are only $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12 with proceeds going to Magic Moments.
Magic Moments is an Alabama non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling non-medical wishes to children with chronic, life threatening or certain life altering conditions. Since it's inception in 1984, Magic Moments has granted over 2,700 wishes to children who live in Alabama.
"This game will provide fans of all ages with the opportunity to watch some of the area's most famous hockey players over the years while supporting a great charity," said Alabama Slammers President Taylor Hall. "With players like Jerome Bechard and Garry Unger taking the ice, it should be an exciting night of hockey."
Fans will also receive an opportunity to bid on the celebrity player jerseys during a silent auction at the game with proceeds going to Magic Moments. In addition, those that donate funds to Magic Moments during the "Hockey for Charity" game will receive a special ticket offer from the Alabama Slammers for the upcoming season.
