Joliet, IL - The Joliet Slammers presented by ATI Physical Therapy continued their hot stretch at home looking for the sweep over the Windy City Thunderbolts behind the pitching of Duke Von Schamann as Windy City southpaw Jake Fisher tried to tame the Slammers' bats.

Windy City scored first when designated hitter Kyle Wood drove in Coco Johnson after Johnson doubled to start the game to make it 1-0. The Slammers' offense responded right back after Juan Silva crushed a home run well beyond the right field wall to tie the ballgame.

In the 3rd inning Slammers' third basemen Danny Zardon drove in Edwin Gomez and Juan Silva to make it 3-1 Slammers. After using five pitchers in last night's contest, the Bolts stretched Fisher who kept his club in the game. Windy City tallied another run, but left the tying run on base in the 9th inning as Confessor Lara picked up the save and the Slammers swept the Thunderbolts.

The Slammers win 3-2 and have an off day tomorrow. Slammers will pick up play again Tuesday, June 27 at 7:05.
