Batavia Muckdogs News Release
Fishkill, NY - For innings it looked like it would be status quo for the Muckdogs offense. Renegades pitching held the Muckdogs in check until the 8th, but then made one giant mistake.
Trailing 3-1, with 2 outs in the inning, Marc Tugwell stepped up to the plate with the bases loaded and launched the game winning grand slam over the left field fence. The home run was Tugwell's first of the season.
Cory Von Tungeln and Javon Moran chipped in 2 hits each in the win. The pitching was stellar again, as starter Julio De La Cruz went 6 innings, allowing just 2 runs while striking out 7. C.J. Woodrow (1-2) pitched the final 3 innings to record the win
The Muckdgos return to Dwyer Stadium to begin a three game series with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Game time for Tuesday night is 7:05 PM.
