Skyrockets Stay Sharp in USBL

Minot, ND - April 17, 2007 - The United States Basketball League (USBL) is underway for the 2007 season, and some of your favorite Skyrockets will be continuing their careers in the league. The USBL season runs from late April (after the conclusion of the collegiate basketball season) until late June (before the start of NBA rookie and free agent camps) and consists of a 30-game schedule. This year eight teams will be playing in the USBL, and two former Skyrockets are listed on the rosters.

Ray Cunningham, a 6'6" / 200 lb. guard from Murray State, will be suiting up for the Gary Steelheads. Cunningham was a CBA All-Star for the Skyrockets in 2006-2007 and was named to the All-CBA 2nd Team and the All-Defensive Team. He finished the season 9th in scoring (17.4 ppg) and 6th in rebounds (7.4 rpg) across the league.

Lewis Fadipe, a 6'10" / 225 lb. forward from LaSalle, will be playing for the Albany Patroons. Fadipe was the lone rookie on the Skyrockets roster. He saw limited playing time in his first season but made strong contributions to the team when called upon. Skyrockets fans will remember the Patroons from the past season as they participate in both the CBA and USBL leagues.
