Minot Skyrockets News Release
Minot, ND - March 11, 2008 - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce that they have signed a new arena lease for the 2008-09 season, guaranteeing their continued commitment to the community of Minot.
Chris Lindbo, President of the Minot CBA Investment Group, LLC, signed the new 24-game lease with the Minot Municipal Auditorium. "Not only have we signed on for the 2008-09 season, but we are also on the list to host the 2009-10 All-Star Game. We plan on being in Minot for years to come and look forward to continuing our relationship with the Auditorium. Scott Collins has worked with us in every aspect during this transition period, and we are very excited to be playing here."
The new arena lease involves 24 more home games for the Skyrockets to play at the Minot Municipal Auditorium, starting in November 2008. "Having the Skyrockets here is great. It keeps the building and the staff busy and is great income for the city. It is also great entertainment for the community and a great draw for the city, so we are excited both personally and professionally to have the new ownership renew the lease," said Scott Collins, Auditorium/Recreation Manager.
The 2008-09 season will be the Skyrockets' third season in Minot. They have enjoyed two years of tremendous success on and off the court. The Skyrockets were 31-17 their first year and finished the 2007-08 regular season at 38-10. They also won the American Conference Regular Season Championship this year. The Skyrockets are currently preparing for the start of post-season with the first two play-off games to be held on March 17th and 18th against the Pittsburgh Xplosion. Tip-off both nights is at 7:05 pm. For more information, call the Skyrockets at 839-SLAM.
