Indiana AlleyCats News Release

Anderson, IN (March 18, 2007) - The Minot Skyrockets came back to force overtime and prevailed today against the Indiana Alley Cats, 116-115. The Alley Cats were able to pick up three quarter points in the game. They fell to .500 on the season with four games left.

The Alley Cats led after one quarter of play, 30-24. Minot came back to take the second and lead 61-58 at the half. Shaun Fountain led all scorers at the break with 17 points, while Ray Cunningham had 11 for the Skyrockets. Indiana was able to win the third quarter and cut the deficit to only one going into the fourth quarter. The Alley Cats led by two with 12 seconds to go in the final quarter when Jitim Young fouled Shaun Fountain; much to the dismay of Minot head coach Chris Daleo. Fountain, an 87% free throw shooter for the season, missed both free throws. After the Skyrockets called a timeout, Young drove to the basket and made a clutch shot to tie the game with four seconds to play in regulation. Chandler Thompson hoisted a three-pointer for the win, but it came up short. DeAndre Walker grabbed the offensive rebound, only to have his put-back bounce off the rim as time expired.

In the extra session, the game was tied with 12 seconds to go, when Thompson picked off Ronnie Fields' pass. Thompson went to the line and made the first. He missed the second and a loose ball foul was called on Indiana forward Josh Murray. The Alley Cats were over the limit, so Cunningham went to the line for Minot. He made them both to put the Skyrockets up by one with four seconds to play. After an Indiana timeout, Murray's jump shot missed as the buzzer sounded.

Fountain, the CBA's scoring leader, led the Alley Cats with 26 points and 6 assists. Will Caudle had a great game with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Thompson had a woeful day from the field (7 of 23), but ended up with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 steals. Carl Edwards finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Murray added 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Cunningham paced Minot with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Fields tallied 20 points and Young posted 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. Kenyon Gamble was dominant on the defensive end with 7 blocks to go along with his 9 points and 9 rebounds. Darnell Miller added 13 points, while Steve Castleberry finished with 12.

The Alley Cats will host the Pittsburgh Xplosion tomorrow night at 7:00. Indiana Alley Cats season tickets and single game tickets are currently on sale. Please contact the Alley Cats office at (765) 608-3838 or visit their website at http://www.indyalleycats.com for more details.
