Minot Skyrockets News Release
Minot, ND - January 12, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets have signed two new players to the team. Guard David Harrison and Point Guard Darnell Miller will both be suiting up on Sunday when the Skyrockets take on the Albany Patroons for the first time in Minot.
David Harrison is a 6'3" / 215 lb. guard who is just returning from an overseas tour with a team in France. Harrison has played the last two years in the France Pro A League where averaged 13.6 ppg and 4.9 rpg. In the 2002-2003 season, he played under Head Coach Chris Daleo for the Rockford Lightning. That season he averaged 28.8 ppg and 5.8 4pg and helped the Lightning to the CBA Regular Season Championship.
"Dave played for me in Rockford, and he led the league in scoring. It's good to have a familiar face and a CBA veteran on the team," commented Coach Daleo.
Also joining the team is Darnell Miller, a 6'5" / 225 lb. point guard from West Georgia. Miller played in the NBA D-League for the Fayetteville Patriots last year. He also spent the 2005 NBA Summer Camp with the Memphis Grizzlies. Miller spent his college years at George Washington and West Georgia.
"We needed more from the point guard position, and Darnell comes highly recommended. To make room for Darnell, Dale Miller was waived."
Lewis Fadipe has also returned to Minot after missing two games to handle a family emergency.
Sunday will be the first chance for Minot fans to see the Albany Patroons. The Skyrockets have played them three times in Albany, but this will be the first of five games that Albany will play in North Dakota. Albany currently leads the series 2-1. The Patroons are also sitting in first place in the American Conference but has lost their last two games to the Indiana Alley Cats and lost the quarter points in both games 6-1.
Tickets are still available for the Sunday afternoon game which tips-off at 4:05 pm. Visit the team website at www.MinotSkyrockets.com for a full schedule or you can get more info on the CBA League by visiting www.CBAHoopsOnline.com.
