June 29, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

Sioux Falls, S.D. (June 29, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will serve as the NBA Development League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat for the 2009-10 season. The affiliation system allows the Timberwolves and Heat to assign players in their first or second season to Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls has been affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves in each of the three seasons they have played in the NBA D-League. The Timberwolves have assigned one player in three seasons as then-rookie Chris Richard averaged 10.2 points and 11.5 rebounds in six games in 2007-08. David Kahn, who will now be involved in all player matters as the Wolves new President of Basketball Operations, is no stranger to the assignment system as he previously owned several NBA D-League franchises.

The Miami Heat will replace the Charlotte Bobcats as Sioux Falls' second NBA parent team. Miami has assigned four players since the assignment system was created prior to the 2005-06 season. Earl Barron (17.0 ppg, 9.7 rpg, six games) and Dorell Wright (12.2 ppg, 3.8 rpg, six games) were assigned to the Florida Flame in 2005-06 while Joel Anthony (8.0 ppg, 4.0 bpg, three games) and Daequan Cook (19.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, three games) were assigned to the Iowa Energy in 2007-08.

Following is the list of players from Miami and Minnesota that are eligible to be assigned to the Skyforce this upcoming season:
