Skeeters Individual Tickets On Sale Now, Promotional Schedule Announced

SUGAR LAND, TEXAS - Tickets for the upcoming 2016 Sugar Land Skeeters season are on sale now at Constellation Field and online at SugarLandSkeeters.com. The Skeeters begin the 2016 Atlantic League season at home on Thursday, April 21 against the Bridgeport Bluefish at 7:05 pm.

The 2016 Skeeters promotional schedule features popular giveaways and will once again include fan favorites. Margarita Mondays have been kicked up a notch this season with the addition of Dollar Dogs, which allows fans to enjoy dollar hot dogs alongside discounted margaritas. Other weekly promotions include Two-Steppin Tuesdays, featuring half priced field box group tickets and #WinningWednesdays in which fans have the chance to win prizes all night even if the Skeeters don't win. Thirsty Thursdays, Firework Fridays, SaLute2Fans Saturdays and Sunday Fundays will also be featured this season. Thirsty Thursdays (sponsored by Bud Light) allow fans to enjoy discounted beer and soda while Firework Fridays include a Fireworks Spectacular show after the game. SaLute2Fan Saturdays are dedicated to our fans with "Shirt Off Our Back" jersey auctions, giveaways and post game concerts. Sunday Fundays offer activities for the whole family, including catch on the field, kids run the bases (sponsored by Larry Caldwell), autographs and more.

The 2016 season opens with an Opening Weekend Extravaganza April 21-24. Fireworks will light up the night sky after the game on Thursday, April 21 and Friday, April 22. The first 2,000 fans in the gates on Saturday, April 23 will receive a Skeeters hat courtesy of MemberSource Credit Union and schedule magnets will be given away all weekend. The team will host the first Jersey Auction of the season on Friday, May 6.

Many fan-favorite promotions are being brought back for the 2016 season including Pink in the Park (May 6), Bark in the Park (July 10 and September 4), and Faith and Family Night (September 17). The Diamond Dig (May 8) and Remote Dig (July 24) will allow fans a chance to dig for a great prize in the infield dirt after the game.

There are also plenty of promotions geared toward the younger Skeeters fans. The Skeeters reading program, which visited over 60 schools this offseason, provided 70,000 students with a chance to receive two free tickets by reading four books. Those students who learned how they can become a super student with the help of team mascot Swatson can turn in their earned tickets for games on April 24 (Sunday Funday), May 8 (Diamond Dig), May 11 (Christmas in July in May) and May 22 (Princess and Pirates Night).

Once school is out for the summer, the Skeeters will host Super Splash Day on June 21. Super Splash Day allows families and youth camps the opportunity to enjoy a day game (11:05 am) while participating in in- game water balloon fights, get sprayed down with hoses, and other water games. The Skeeters have also partnered up with 38 local little leagues for spirit/fundraising nights that will include team parades on the field before the game among other fun activities for the youth players.
