Rochester Rhinos News Release
Rochester, NY - A major highlight of the 2015 season will be our Rhinos Legends game that is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 27th prior to our Hall of Fame Night festivities and Rhinos home game against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The next two picks joining "Team Demmin" and "Team Andracki" are midfielder Yari Alnutt and defender Tim Hardy.
Yari Alnutt was born in Maryland but grew up playing soccer in the streets of Mexico. He had two playing stints with the Rhinos from 1998-2000 & 2004. Yari began his soccer career playing for the San Diego Nomads (Western Soccer League), the Los Angeles Salsa (American Professional Soccer League) and University of Portland. In 1994-1996 he played for Inter de Tijuana and Irapuato in the Mexican First Division. He returned to the United States in 1996 and spent two seasons with the Carolina Dynamo, scoring 30 goals in 48 appearances. In 1996, he was loaned to the Kansas City Wizards (now known as Sporting KC of the MLS) and scored one goal in his only appearance. Alnutt signed with the Rhinos prior to the 1998 season and scored 30 goals in 75 matches during his first stint with the Rhinos. In 2001, Yari played with the New England Revolution before returning the Rhinos for the 2004 season. In 2004, Yari appeared in 19 matches and notched one goal. He made five appearances for the United States National Team in 1992-1993 scoring two goals.
Tim Hardy, known as the "The Motor City Madman" played for the Rhinos for three seasons from 1998 - 2000. His playing days began at Indiana University where he had a strong career from 1992 to 1995. Following his collegiate days, Hardy began his professional career with the Richmond Kickers in 1996 and made 23 appearances during his rookie campaign. From 1996 to 1997, Hardy played professionally with the indoor team St. Louis Ambush. He then began his time with the Rhinos in 1998. He made appearances in 64 matches, was a strong tackler, and knocked in two goals. During the offseason, Hardy played indoor soccer with the Buffalo Blizzard. He spent his final year playing professionally with the Cleveland Crunch of the Major Soccer League (indoor).
"Since my time with the Rhinos, I've earned my Master's degree in Teaching and am currently an elementary school teacher in St. Louis, Missouri," Hardy stated. "My most memorable moment with the Rhinos was scoring the game winning goal against Columbus with no time left in the US Open Cup semi-final in Virginia while my wife was back in New York having labor pains. Our daughter was born two days later!"
