Sixth Annual WNBA Breast Health Auction runs through July 19

NEW YORK, JULY 6, 2005- Continuing an effort that has raised over $2 million for breast health awareness, the WNBA has opened the sixth annual Breast Health Auction on WNBA.com, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Komen Foundation is one of the nation's largest private funding sources for breast cancer research and community outreach programs. The WNBA Breast Health Auction will run through July 19.

The WNBA.com auction features a variety of unique and desirable WNBA and NBA items including:

Signed jerseys from each of the Top 5 WNBA Draft Picks

Signed items from each of the Top 5 NBA Draft Picks Official WNBA basketball signed by 2005 WNBA All-Stars

Signed jersey from each 2005 WNBA All-Star

Official NBA basketball signed by all four North Carolina NBA 2005 Draft Picks

Games of H.O.R.S.E with several WNBA stars including the Seattle Storm's Sue Bird

Team signed pink and white Breast Health Awareness basketballs

The WNBA Breast Health Awareness program focuses on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer in addition to raising funds for the initiative. For the third year, the WNBA is proud to have the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as a partner and beneficiary of the program.
