New York Red Bulls News Release

SECAUCUS, NJ (Saturday, August 12, 2006) - Six members of the New York Red Bulls - midfielders Danny O'Rourke and Seth Stammler, defenders Steve Jolley and Jeff Parke, forward Jordan Cila, and goalkeeper Mike Behonick - are featured in a two-page photo spread in the September 2006 issue of Vanity Fair magazine, which is on newsstands nationwide now.

The players are sporting mohawks and camouflage army-surplus fashion designed by Junya Watanabe. Watanabe's fall men's-wear collection, which was inspired by Robert De Niro's character in the 1972 film Taxi Driver, was modeled by the Red Bulls in a street scene that mirrored the setting of the movie.

"It was awesome," Stammler said of the whole experience and the photo spread. "We had seen a couple of the sample pictures at the shoot, but the final one we saw in the magazine is great. All of the guys had a really good time."

Watanabe, a Tokyo-born designer, is known for his avant-garde style, particularly in his exploration of new cutting concepts, his sourcing of fabrics, and his innovative draping techniques. Vanity Fair fashion and style director Michael Roberts and photographer Mark Seliger chose the urban setting of the DUMBO neighborhood in Brooklyn for the photo shoot. The Red Bulls' feature can be found on pages 360 and 361 of Vanity Fair's 400-page Style Issue. It is one of four photo spreads in the issue that were inspired by classic 20th century films.
