
Six Black Bears Drafted in Major League Baseball Draft

Longview-Kelso, Washington, Friday, June 10, 2011: Six Cowlitz Black Bears were drafted in the 2011 Major League Baseball draft that concluded on June 8th. The Black Bears had three players from the 2010 roster and three players from the 2011 roster selected.
Shortstop Mitchell Walding was selected in the 5th Round by the Philadelphia Phillies. Outfielder Billy Flamion was selected in the 25th Round by the Houston Astros. Outfielder Spencer O'Neil was selected by the New York Yankees in the 33rd Round. Right-Handed Pitcher Chris Dennis was selected in the 34th Round by the Colorado Rockies. Third Baseman Kevin Taylor was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 36th Round. And Right-Handed Pitcher Alex Keudell was chosen by the Minnesota Twins in the 38th Round.
