Richmond, VA - After a big victory over the Tri-Cities Fever, the Sioux Falls Storm retains its position at the top of the IFL Coaches' Poll for a tenth consecutive week.
There was not a lot of change in this week's poll as most teams at the top maintained their positions. However, with several big games within in the top ten this week there is sure to a shakeup next week as several teams are jockeying for playoff positioning.
This week Sioux Falls (9-0) has another difficult task on hand as the team will travel to third- ranked Green Bay (8-2) and take on the Blizzard in a rematch of last year's United Conference Championship game. The Storm routed the Blizzard 52-12 in that game however Green Bay has not lost at home this season.
Despite a 55-16 loss to the Storm, the Tri-Cities Fever (9-1) maintain the second position this week and will look to get back to their winning ways as they take on the Wyoming Cavalry (3-7) in Week 13. The Allen Wranglers (6-3) maintain the fourth position as the team is coming off a bye week to face the suddenly red-hot offense of the Everett Raptors (3-7). Wrapping up the top five is the Bloomington Edge (7-3). Bloomington, who is also coming off a bye, will seek to rebound against the Cedar Rapids Titans, after dropping two consecutive games to the Green Bay Blizzard.
Coming in at sixth and seventh are the Colorado Ice and the Wichita Wild. The Ice (6-4) rushed for an IFL -record 260 yards against the Wyoming Cavalry in Week 12. The Ice will play the New Mexico Stars this week. Wichita (4-5) is one of the hottest teams in the IFL as they have won four of their last five games. In addition, the team scored a franchise record 77 points the last time they played. The Wild will face the tenth-ranked Nebraska Danger in a critical game for determining the last spot in the Intense Conference Playoffs.
Omaha moves back into the top ten into the eight position as the Beef scored a season-high 68 points in victory over the Nebraska Danger in Week 12. Omaha takes on Lehigh Valley in a very critical matchup for playoff positioning in Week 13.
