Sioux Falls Returns All-IFL Offensive Line

The Sioux Falls Storm is pleased to announce that its entire defending champion offensive line is back for the 2012 season. Myniya Smith, Anthony Thomas, Gerald Davis and Charlie Sanders return to the Storm front-line, a squad that helped the team rush for 1,936 yards, set an All IFL Record scoring a total of 1,163 points and allowing only three sacks over the season. In addition to the core four, Brandon Ford, a University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff alumni, will join team.

Myniya Smith is back with the Storm for another season. Smith had a standout inaugural season with the Storm earning 1st Team All IFL honors. He spent the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Billings Outlaws where he helped secure two IFL Championships. Smith spent time in the AFL and part of 2007 with the New York Giants. The Southern University alumnus was named to the 2004 Louisiana sports Writers Association All-Louisiana Football Team, the I-AA.org preseason All-American 1st Team and preseason All-SWAC. Smith helped to lead southern University to the 2004 SWAC Title and Black College National Game.

Thomas returns for his fifth season with the Storm. The former Arizona Wildcat came to Sioux Falls from the Sioux City Bandits in 2008. Thomas also was on the Washington Redskins practice squad after college before joining the Bandits in 2005. He also coaches defensive line for Briar Cliff University in Sioux City.

Gerald Davis is back with the Storm for a second straight season. Prior to playing in Sioux Falls, Davis gained professional football experience with the NFL's New Orleans Saints and the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Edmonton Eskimos. At Valdosta State, Davis played in 36 of 46 games and helped the team to D-II national championships in 2004 and 2007. Davis is currently a Graduate Assistant with the Augustana College football team in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Charlie "CA" Sanders returns to the Storm for his second season in Sioux Falls. Sanders was named 1st Team All IFL in his 2011 season with the Storm. Prior to the Storm, Sanders spent the 2010 season with the Billings Outlaws. The offensive lineman has played with Storm quarterback Chris Dixon his entire professional career. Charlie "C.A." played collegiate ball at Valdosta State and played in the 2007 NCAA Division II National Championship Game.

Brandon Ford joins a deep offensive line after playing four seasons at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. In four seasons, the Detroit native played in 36 games and earned a 3.6 Grade Point Average in Accounting.
