
Sioux Falls' Marqus Blakely and Bakersfield's Brian Butch Named NBA Development League Co-Performers

NEW YORK - Marqus Blakely of the Sioux Falls Skyforce and Brian Butch of the Bakersfield Jam were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played March 12-18. The honor is the first for both players this season.
Blakely, a 6-5, 220-pound forward from Vermont, averaged 21.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 33.0 minutes in three Sioux Falls victories last week. He shot 62 percent from the field, recording back-to-back double-doubles on March 13 and 14. On the season, Blakely is averaging 14.8 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 30.4 minutes in 27 total games, 14 with the Iowa Energy and 13 with Sioux Falls.
Butch, a 6-11, 240-pound center from Wisconsin, averaged 19.0 points, 12.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 28.0 minutes in two Jam wins over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers last week, including back-to-back double-doubles. In eight games with Bakersfield this season, Butch is averaging 18.4 points, 12.0 rebounds and 27.6 minutes.
Other top performers considered included Austin's Justin Dentmon, who averaged 25.7 points and 8.3 assists in three games; Canton's Alan Anderson, who averaged 26.5 points and 5.0 rebounds in two games; Dakota's Stefon Hannah, who averaged 29.7 points and 4.3 assists in three games; Erie's D.J. Kennedy, who averaged 20.8 points and 7.5 rebounds in four games; Fort Wayne's Vernon Macklin, who averaged 15.5 points and 17.0 rebounds in two games on assignment from the Detroit Pistons; Idaho's Marcus Banks, who averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 assists in four games; Iowa's Brandon Ewing, who averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games; Los Angeles' Jamario Moon, who averaged 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in two games; Maine's Morris Almond, who averaged 26.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games; Reno's Andre Emmett, who averaged 23.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two games; Springfield's JamesOn Curry, who averaged 22.0 points and 5.5 assists in two games; Texas' Dominique Johnson, who averaged 18.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in three games; and Tulsa's Marcus Lewis, who averaged 21.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two games.
