
Simmons Added to All-Star Roster

The Continental Basketball Association today announced that Kevin Simmons has been added to the 19th annual CBA All-Star Classic.
Simmons (6-9, 265) makes his debut in the mid-season classic in his first season in the CBA. The former McDonald's All-American has been a dominant inside force for the HOOPS all season, starting in 23 of the team's 25 games. He currently leads the team, and is ranked fifth in the league, with 10.7 rebounds per game. The UNLV alum also has contributed 10.7 points per game. During the past two NBA preseasons, Simmons has spent time in the Houston Rockets' and Dallas Mavericks' training camps.
He was named to the ten-man squad after teammate Jerald Honeycutt was unable to make the trip due to a foot injury.
Honeycutt (6-9, 265) was due to make his first appearance at the All-Star game. A 1997 Milwaukee Buck draft choice, Honeycutt currently ranks among the league leaders in scoring (23.2), rebounding (9.9) and blocks (1.2) per game. The former Tulane standout also garnered CBA American Conference Player of the Week honors after averaging 23.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists from December 8-14.
The CBA showcase will be held Tuesday, January 14 at 8:05 p.m. EST at the Sioux Falls Arena.
