Dayton Silverbacks News Release
(TROY,OH)-The Miami Valley Silverbacks will play their last home game Saturday night at Hobart Arena. Kickoff is set for 7pm. The Silverbacks will take on the Steubenville Stampede for a third time this season. The Silverbacks were originally scheduled to take on the Syracuse Soldiers. Due to logistical issues, Syracuse cannot make the trip to Troy. Schedule adjustments were made among the four teams involved to accommodate all organizations.
"It's unfortunate that Syracuse cannot make this trip. Both teams were looking forward to the rematch" commented Silverbacks Head Coach Matt King. "Fortunately league scheduling fell in our favor and Steubenville's opponent is closer for Syracuse. That situation leaves Steubenville and the Silverbacks in a position to play on Saturday night."
The only remaining option for Saturday night's game would be to cancel the game and Silverbacks executives are not in favor of that.
"We made a promise to our fans, sponsors and this community," explained King. "It's an unfortunate situation for Syracuse but we will give our fans the final home game that they deserve."
Saturday is 80s night at the Silverbacks. Wear your favorite or worst 80s outfit and get $2 off ticket prices. Kids 12 and under are $5 with a full price adult admission. Ticket prices start at $10. To purchase tickets, visit the Hobart Arena box office or call 937.339.2911.
