Silverbacks re-sign Back for 2008 season
October 11, 2007 - Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL)
Dayton Silverbacks News Release
The Miami Valley Silverbacks began putting their 2008 roster together by re-signing a cornerstone of the special teams and locker room.
The Silverbacks re-signed kick returner/wide receiver Billy Back to a contract making him the first piece of the 2008 roster as the Silverbacks look to build on their first ever Continental Indoor Football League playoff appearance in 2007.
Back, a 5-foot-9 175 pound Edgewood High School product, led the Silverbacks in return yards in 2007 and was a key possession receiver on offense. Back was also one of the emotional and vocal leaders in the locker room for the Silverbacks.
"Billy is an important part of our team," Silverback coach Carl Allen said. "He's not just a quality player but a leader of our team. "He's a smart veteran."
The Silverbacks held their first open try-out last weekend and will be announcing additional try-outs in the near future.
