Silverbacks Looking for Anthem Singers

(TROY,OH)- The Miami Valley Silverbacks are looking for local talent to sing the National Anthem during the 2007 season. Anthem tryouts will be held Tuesday, September 12 beginning at 7pm at Hobart Arena.
One singer will be chosen for each home game during the 2007 season. Home games for next season will be March 30, April 14 and 21, and May 4, 11 and 18. Each person chosen to sing for the 2007 season will receive two complimentary tickets to the game at which they are performing.
"We had a great group of singers last year, including one of our players," commented Sue Keeton, Silverbacks Director of Public Relations. "Last year we had such little time to plan for game operations that we didn't get a chance to hold tryouts. This season we can have auditions and open this opportunity up to more people."
Candidates must be available for each home game in order to be considered. Each person will be asked to sing the National Anthem a cappella and will be judged by members of the Silverbacks front office and local musicians.
